Global Earth Repair Conference. Wow!

A Message from Michael Pilarski

Dear friends and colleagues,

We are excited to announce the first annual Global Earth Repair Conference, to be held May 3–5 2019, in Port Townsend, Washington.

This Conference will be the biggest endeavor yet for the Friends of the Trees Society, bringing together upwards of five hundred people dedicated to earth repair in its many forms. Expert speakers will address the topics of ecosystem restoration, bioremediation, regenerative farming, permaculture, and indigenous perspectives on land stewardship. Our goal is to host over a hundred presenters. Everyone at the Conference will be an ambassador representing their community and corner of the world. Together we will brainstorm how local earth repair strategies can inspire broader movements and impact the global whole. Our goal is to produce a compendium of bioremediation models and earth repair projects that can be implemented around the world. The Conference will highlight viewpoints not heard at international climate negotiations, honoring the voices of indigenous people, subsistence farmers, grassroots organizers and earth repair practitioners.

The Facebook Events Page is up! Join the conversation.

PRESENTERS

We have begun inviting a diverse group of expert speakers and international guests. So far we have confirmed two keynote speakers and 24 presenters. This number will grow rapidly over the next couple of months. The GERC will feature keynotes, workshops, panels, round-table discussions, hands-on activities, and field trips.

If you would like to present or facilitate in some way, please fill out the Presenters Application Form on the website. Please send us the names of anyone you would like to recommend.

CROWD-FUNDING

The GERC team will be crowd-funding in the month of November. Stay tuned! If you have an organizational email list, please consider forwarding our crowd-funding announcement when we release it. If you would like to do so, let us know so we can add you to our list.

SPONSORSHIP

We would be extremely grateful if you would consider being a conference sponsor. There are four levels of sponsorship, valued at $250, $1,000, $2,000 and $4,000. A letter detailing the perks for each level of sponsorship is on our website.  Kindly use our sponsor form to donate.  Gifts of smaller amounts will be gratefully accepted at our crowd-funding page.

REGISTRATION

Early registration helps us meet the considerable expenses of an event this size.  The Early-Bird price of $220 is available until January 1.

Register now!

Would you like to be part of the Conference team? We need help with many aspects of organization and logistics, including videography, live streaming, online conferencing, and fund-raising. We are looking for people to research earth repair projects in specific countries. Let us know if you if you are willing to research a specific country.

You can help us with publicity by downloading, printing and putting up our fabulous conference poster (artist, Bob Paltrow).
