25 Year Agroforestry Planting with Michael Pilarski

Here is a recent video tour of my 2-acre, 25-year old agroforestry planting in the Methow Valley of North-central Washington. Almost all the trees, shrubs and herb layers of the planting are medicinal plants. It has been gradually abandoned over the least 5 years and has grown into a dense forest with overstory, understory, snags, large woody debris and large carbon sequestration. Lots to learn in this short tour. The video talks about the restoration of this system and what we can learn from the understory development. We will have an open-house tour in the Spring of 2021. If you are interested in attending keep an eye on our website and/or send me an email.

Here is an opportunity to learn more about the fairy realms. Please join us for the online Fairy & Human Relations Global Congress. This is a 15-hour, 3-day event on January 15-17. You will be linked up with a global group of people who work with fairies.

Please spread the word to others who would be interested. Thanks.

Please go to the Fairy Congress website to learn more about the Congress, the presenters and how to get tickets.

Screen-Sharing: Do you have any friends or family who would like to do the on-line Fairy Congress with you? It is more fun to do it with a buddy and you can split the costs and make it even more affordable. You can have as many people watching a screen as you can fit in front of it. Remember you also have a month to watch the recordings and you can share during that time as well.

The reason we are including this in a Friends of the Trees Society Newsletter is that Michael Pilarski is the founder of Friends of the Trees Society (1978) and the Fairy & Human Relations Congress (2001).

Here is a short 3-minute video by the Wisdom Weavers of the World. Filmed on Kauai at a gathering of indigenous elders brought together by Unangan/Aleut elder Ilarion Merculieff. Ilarion has been a keynote speaker at two of my conferences and I have deep respect for him.

Permaculture Link Service
Getting people and land together

The Inland Northwest Permaculture Guild is a sister organization of Friends of the Trees Society. It's a network of permaculture practitioners who inhabit a region of the northwestern U.S. between the Cascade Mountain Range and the Rocky Mountain Range. The Guild has just launched a "Permaculture Link Service." Anyone may post listings in the following categories:

Looking for land to buy privately,
Looking for land to buy collectively,
Wanting to join an existing permaculture project,
Have land to sell,
Have permaculture project, seeking more people.

It's a brand new service and there aren't any listings yet, but the hope is that folks will start to use it. If you're seeking or offering, why not be the first?
